He’s running – not mountain biking – but longtime ROMP member Gary Gellin is attempting to set a new record on the 165+ mile Tahoe Rim Trail, starting Monday 8/13. 28,000 feet of climbing, all at altitudes above 6200′. Standing record is 38 hours, 32 minutes.
Update, 8/16: Gary went 80 miles before stopping due to a knee injury – great accomplishment!!!
Gary is supporting the Tahoe Rim Trail Association through this effort; if you’d like to contribute, visit here. Note “TRT speed record” in the comments box.
Go Gary!!!
