IMBA Announces NMBP Regional Representatives

IMBA is proud to announce our new patrol training program and 12 NMBP

regional representatives. The reps will organize NMBP instructor

training

conferences in their area. In the past, the NMBP instructor training

conference was held once a year and limited our capacity to certify

instructors. The new format will allow us to reach more patrollers and

help

us to train them more effectively. Regional representatives will also

be an

information resource for local patrols and encourage patrol growth and

effectiveness. The idea for the new training program was generated at

this

year’s IMBA Summit in Moab, UT where patrol leaders from around the

country

gathered to identify ways to more effectively train and certify

patrollers.

Regional reps were nominated by patrol directors in each region. The

following is a list of NMBP regional representatives and the areas they

represent:

Pearl Izumi Steps Up Patrol Support

Long time IMBA corporate member Pearl Izumi increased its support of

the

National Mountain Bike Patrol program to the tune of $4,000 this year.

The

company supplies NMBP patrollers with discounted NMBP logoed Vagabond

jackets. In addition to their support of the NMBP, Pearl Izumi makes

cash

contributions to IMBA, manufactures our signature IMBA logoed socks and

prints the IMBA logo on their clothing hang tags. The company also

produces

the popular Ben & Jerry’s cycling jersey, which raises funds for IMBA’s

Sprockids program. A special thank you goes out to the folks at Pearl

Izumi

for their generous support this year. Visit Pearl Izumi’s website

(http://www.pearlizumi.com/) to view their complete line of technical

Patrollers Assist at Interbike Demo Day

The National Mountain Bike Patrol assisted riders at Interbike’s

OutDoor

Demo

Day for the fourth year in a row earlier this month. Interbike is the

cycling

industry’s tradeshow held annually in Las Vegas, NV. The OutDoor Demo

is a

chance for retailers and media to test ride the latest mountain bike

equipment on trails, located just outside of Las Vegas. With more than

4,500

riders pre-registered for the event, patrollers were plenty busy

performing

minor bike adjustments, directing traffic and attending to minor

scrapes and

bruises. Thank you to those patrollers who attended the event.
